Carson Hires its First Female City Manager

Former Irvine Assistant City Manager Sharon Landers comes to an often fiscally-challenged city.

Carson has hired Sharon Landers, who spent a dozen years in top management roles with the city of Irvine, as its first female city manager, said Mayor Al Robles.

Landers started last week, but had previously scheduled commitments and was unavailable for comment. In a press release from the city, Landers said she was eager to resume her career in local government.

“I am thrilled to be joining the city of Carson, which has so much economic development potential. I look forward to working with the City Council and our community and business leaders to move the City forward,” she said.
